SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — The Bob Skaggs Memorial Food Drive is back for its 27th year. Volunteers will be outside the Sherman Walmart on US 75 through Wednesday collecting donations to fill the Salvation Army's pantry.

Bob Skaggs was a dedicated volunteer for the Salvation Army's food drive. After his death, the drive was renamed in his honor. It is now the largest Salvation Army food drive in Texas.

"To keep the legacy going is pretty amazing," said Wendy Velotti, Skaggs' daughter. "Seeing it grow every year is pretty amazing, and being able to hand it down to our children is even better. "

Donations will be accepted on Monday and Tuesday this week from 6 a.m. through 8 p.m., and on Wednesday, November 22 from 6 a.m. until noon.

Online donations are accepted on the Salvation Army's website.
