(KTEN) — Oklahoma Gas & Electric is distributing $30,000 in grants to educators across the state.
Teachers can apply for a project to be funded on DonorsChoose; then OG&E will match donations from local businesses or generous Oklahomans.
"We know that the teachers in those communities are spending on average $500 to $1,000 to help their classrooms, and we want to come alongside those teachers and help them," said OG&E community outreach manager Lindsay Laird.
Grants will go to projects related to math, science, technology, engineering, and reading.
Visit DonorsChoose to see projects that need funding in your community and for teachers to apply for classroom projects to be funded. Donations are tax-deductible.
