Carter County pursuit ends in fatal crash
CARTER COUNTY, Okla. (KTEN) — A 32 year-old Sulphur man died in a three-vehicle crash in Carter County on Thursday night.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the incident began as a pursuit and ended around 8:45 in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35, four miles south of Ardmore.
The deceased was a passenger in a 2018 Dodge Challenger driven by a 29-year-old Ardmore resident; he was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital for treatment of internal and arm injuries. Their identities have been withheld while relatives are notified.
A second passenger in the Challenger, 30-year-old La'Aires Bennett of Ardmore, was treated for his injuries and released from Mercy Hospital Ardmore.
The operators of the two other vehicles involved in the crash — a small bus and a large truck — were not injured.
Information about what led to the chase and subsequent crash was not released.
