(KTEN) — U.S. Rep Pat Fallon reversed course on plans to exit Congress and run for his old seat in the Texas Senate.

Republican state Sen. Drew Springer currently holds the District 30 seat, but said he will not run for re-election.

Fallon initially filed to run for the seat after Springer leaves, but has since filed to run for Congress again.

Fallon held that state senate seat two years before Springer was elected.
