COLLINSVILLE, Texas (KTEN) - With a senior-led team, Collinsville had high expectations coming into the year. A 7-1 start, going 4-0 in district so far has kept those expectations sky high. The Pirates want to be playing into December this year.

However, they will have a chance to cross their first playoff goal off their list if they win the 8-2A(II) title with a win over Muenster on Friday.

"I think they're excited about it," said Collinsville head coach Garrett Patterson. "It is a veteran group that's won a lot of games and they know how to handle a lot of the situations a lot of young teams don't. It's going to be good to get them back on the field Friday night and see what they can do against a really good football program.

Muester at Collinsville kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday.
