SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — Thursday was Day 4 at the murder trial of Ebby Wade at the Grayson County Justice Center.

It was an evidence-heavy hearing in the wade trial.

Wade is accused in the first-degree felony murder of 21-year-old Emilia Gunnels in March, 2020.

In Thursday's evidence-heavy hearing, the state called in former co-workers of Gunnels and Wade to testify on the pair's relationship. One co-worker said Wade expressed to her that he wanted to be more than friends with Gunnels.

In an interview with police that was played in court, Wade denied ever approaching Gunnels with an offer of a more intimate relationship.

Prosecutors said Wade was the last person to see Gunnels alive before she went missing. Her body was recovered three days later on March 23, 2020.
