DURANT, Okla. (KTEN) - For a 10th consecutive season the Durant Lions are headed to the Oklahoma fast-pitch state tournament.

While that has become the expectation for the program, the Lady Lions faced plenty of adversity adjusting to first-year head coach Jimmy Wyrick. However, they seems to be clicking at the perfect time following their regional championship over Claremore.

"Our energy has gotten a lot better since the end of the season and regionals," said senior Rylee Ramos.

"I'm just happy that we've come together at the end and taken care of business," said Wyrick.

Durant opens the 5A tournament against Piedmont at Firelake Ballpark in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Thursday at 11 a.m.
