PARIS, Texas (KTEN) — A Paris man was arrested after a traffic stop tied him to a fatal hit-and-run incident just days before.

Police said Rodney Sherman Willis was pulled over on Monday morning. Officers arrested him for driving with an expired license.

Investigators identified Willis, 59, as a suspect in a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian last Friday. The victim, identified as 81-year-old Ismael Claudio Moreno of Paris, died of his injuries on Sunday.

Police said Willis confessed to fleeing after Friday's fatal crash. He was charged with leaving the scene of a deadly accident and later posted bond, according to records.
