ARDMORE, Okla. (KTEN) — Murray State College and SouthernTech have reached another agreement. This time it's for students in SouthernTech's medical assistant program to be able to earn an associate's degree as an occupational therapy assistant from MSC.

This is the second agreement between the schools in the last year. Nursing students were the beneficiaries of the previous pact.

"A lot of times we focus solely on nursing, and the therapies are a very integral part of the health care system," said SouthernTech health programs director Alisha Mason. "So let's see what students might be interested in that track as well."

Because of the agreement, five SouthernTech students who have received their certification in medical assistance will be able to enter MSC's occupational therapy program.
