Saturday - Highs reach the mid 90s Saturday with heat index values in the triple digits. A cold front arrives late Saturday evening into the overnight, bringing the chance of severe thunderstorms back to Texoma. Winds 60-80 mph, golf ball sized hail, a low tornado threat, and locally heavy rainfall with flooding are all possible from 8 pm Saturday into 2 am Sunday.

Looking Ahead - More storms are possible Sunday as the front stalls. Winds to 60-70 mph, golf ball sized hail, and a low tornado risk are possible Sunday morning and again Sunday evening along the front. Once the front clears Texoma, we're left with sunshine and 80s ahead for next week. Low temps will fall into the 60s. North winds last through Tuesday before south winds return by the middle of next week.

Tracking the Tropics - Tropical Storm Ophelia is set to make landfall along the North Carolina coast Saturday morning. Tropical storm force winds are already being observed. Heavy rainfall with inland flooding will be possible throughout the weekend. Tropical Storm Warnings extend from the Outer Banks to the DelMarVa Peninsula. Storm Surge Warnings are in place with 3 to 5 feet of storm surge possible for some. A tropical wave off the African coast have a 90% chance of formation in the next week.
