KTEN-TV, the NBC (10.1), ABC (10.3) and CW (10.2) affiliates serving the Sherman/Ada/Ardmore region (market 158), has an opportunity for Anchor/Reporter.

The successful candidate will report, produce and anchor during morning newscasts. This person must be a good storyteller with excellent communications skills.

They are journalists first, involved in fact-gathering and breaking of unique local content on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be able to shoot and edit video. The ideal candidate must also be proficient in social media and digital communications. Community involvement and the ability to cultivate good relationships is critical.

The successful candidate will work in the shadows of Markets 5 (Dallas), 43 (Oklahoma City) and 58 (Tulsa). KTEN-TV is an equal opportunity employer.

College degree or equivalent required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and produce stories for air, web, and social media platforms as assigned by Producer or News management for newscasts, specials, and special projects

• Report live from the field or studio as assigned by Producer or News management

• Travel as necessary in the execution of assigned duties

• Look for points of differentiation in storytelling, including walking & talking in stand-ups and live shots

• Work independently with excellent editorial judgment

• Publish news stories to KTEN.com and social media multiple times each day

• Be available on-call as assigned

• Drive station vehicles and travel long distances as assigned

• Select, write, produce, edit and presents news, weather and sports stories for newscasts

• Create a fast-paced, visually stimulating and well written newscast that follows KTEN News Brand

• Have the ability to handle live, breaking news

• Emphasize live-local coverage and find points of difference from our competition

• Determine a story’s emphasis, length and format

• Manage graphics and animation for stories

• Possess strong reporting skills

• Select and write stories for web and social media platforms

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
