(KTEN) – Are you tired of the heat? Many Texomans are probably ready to say goodbye to the summer of 2023. Excessive heat has taken hold of Texoma yet again as temperatures climb into the triple digits for back-to-back days. Record breaking heat is possible through September 8.

Record high temperatures are wrapping up the week

Thankfully, there appears to be an end in sight! High pressure will slide to our south and west, opening the door for a fall-like cold front to swing through, dropping our temperatures into the low 80s next week!

High pressure has slid to our southwest

Severe weather is also possible September 8 as a stationary boundary drapes over Texoma, providing the forcing for storms to form and gain severe criteria.

A level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather is in place for September 8

Threats include 60-80 MPH wind gusts, quarter size hail, and some isolated flash flooding.
