(KTEN) – When you hear the phrase “daily double”, you might think of the game show Jeopardy! Well, this phrase also has a meteorological meaning behind it.

The phrase “daily double” refers to the tying or breaking of a record low AND record high temperature within the same day. As you might imagine, this is a rare feat. Victoria, Texas was recognized by the National Weather Service office in Corpus Christi for this accomplishment on August 30!

 

The town of roughly 65,000 residents is located about 90 minutes northeast of Corpus Christi, Texas in Victoria County.
