Plans to reopen landmark Denison theater
DENISON, Texas — Denison's Rialto Theater opened for business in the year 1920 ago as a vaudeville venue.
Over the decades, stage has served up movies and even contemporary musicians like Carrie Underwood and Kacey Musgraves.
The downtown landmark has been shuttered for the last three years, but it is now getting a new lease on life.
"Our plans are to more likely level it and make it a modern event center," said Earnhart Built president Jonathan Earnhart. "We can have still showings up here, but concerts and different events could be hosted here also."
Renovations are expected to start in about six months.
