Water levels drop due to leaks in Johnston County
TISHOMINGO, Okla. (KTEN) — Some Johnston County lawns will have to go dry for a few days after two water lines sprung leaks.
Around noon on Wednesday, Tishomingo Public Works notified customers of a main line water break that led to some areas experiencing water outages.
Early Thursday morning, another pipe started to leak.
Both leaks have since been repaired, but they caused water tower levels to drop. Homes and businesses in the area are asked not to use water outdoors for the next few days while those levels return to normal.
If customers have air in their lines, they're instructed to bleed it from an outside faucet.
Neither Johnston County Emergency Management nor Tishomingo Public Works provided a clear answer on what may have caused the leaks.
