TISHOMINGO, Okla. (KTEN) - The theme for Tishomingo in 2023 will be taking the next step. The Indians more than doubled their win total last year, going from a single win in 2021 to four wins last year and competing for a playoff spot.

"The bar has changed," said junior tight end Justin Parham. "It's a whole different atmosphere, we're just having fun doing it too."

Tishomingo has not made the playoffs since 2011 and has not had a winning season since 2008. Although they came up short of the postseason, the Indians had a chance to play meaningful games for the first time in a while.

"Week nine, when you can tell your team that you still have a shot to make the playoffs as opposed to the last 10 years when weeks nine and 10 don't matter, man they stepped up and got that valuable playing time just helps us excel into this season," said Tishomingo head coach Scott O'Hara.
