Sherman ISD: New stadium coming in 2026
SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — The Sherman Independent School District is working to accelerate the construction of a new stadium by three years.
Administrators say moving the timeline up should help save the district $10 million, and they're expecting to save taxpayers more than $14 million by refinancing existing debt.
The new stadium, with a capacity of 8,000 fans, is planned to be built just west of the new Sherman High School, utilizing the existing field and adding parking. Construction will coincide with classroom additions, which will be complete in 2025.
The district will retain the current Bearcat Stadium near downtown for middle school and youth sports events.
