DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — The country is in need of qualified truckers.

Grayson College is partnering with R & B Vocational Training LLC to teach students how to drive the big rigs.

Students will spend one week in classrooms, then get three weeks of real-world practice driving.

"It's very important to train them," said commercial driver's license instructor Chris Pickerill. "We want to get them trained and make sure they're safe. We teach them how to operate their equipment safely, make their corners, backing."

After students complete the four-week course, they'll be able to take the state test to get their CDL.
