SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — A key exit on US 82 in Sherman will close permanently next Wednesday.

The Texas Department of Transportation said Exit 642A — from westbound US 82 to US 75 — is scheduled to be shut down at 7 a.m. on May 31.

Drivers will be able to access US 75 from westbound US 82 by using the off ramp to Loy Lake Road — Exit 642B — about a quarter-mile east of of the exit that's closing.

Message boards will be placed along the freeway to alert drivers of the new traffic pattern.
