Fix My Ride helps those in need get back on the road
GAINESVILLE, Texas (KTEN) — Fix My Ride is an annual event in Gainesville to help those who need car repairs.
Oil changes, new tires, small issues with vehicles, anything like that gets fixed up for single parents, seniors, and anyone with financial issues.
The reason is to put smiles on people's faces and help where the volunteers can.
Cooke County Hope Alliance partnered with Glenn Polk to change some people's lives.
"I think that one of the cutest things, is how excited they are to get a clean car back," said Brandi Voth, one of the event organizers. "Because we wash the car after we service the car. And it's like, we could have fixed a major problem they had with this vehicle, but they're so excited that their car smells good and it's clean."
Applications are set up on the Cooke County Hope Alliance Facebook page at the beginning of May every year, however due to resources they only accept up to 30 applicants.
