COLLINSVILLE, Texas (KTEN) - Collinsville Softball will have their hands full in the UIL playoffs this week. The Lady Pirates are facing another Lady Pirates team who's seen major success.

Crawford won the 2022 2A State Championship and can do it all on the softball field, but Collinsville isn't afraid of a challenge.

"I think once we start playing together, playing for each other, it made us have a lot more fun and the wins just kept coming in and here we are," junior shortstop Devyn Elvington said. "I think our biggest strength is defense because once our defense is rolling, then it helps us when we go to offense more, and I think when we're making plays, it makes the game more fun and easier."

The two Lady Pirates teams face off in a doubleheader Thursday, May 17 at Weatherford High School at 5:30pm. If necessary, the teams will play again Saturday at 2:00pm.
