COLLINSVILLE, Texas (KTEN) - Collinsville is facing a familiar opponent in their regional quarterfinal this week. The pirates will face Era, a district opponent who they've played a couple times already

Collinsville players and coaches feel confident since they've been successful on both sides of the ball, but everything for them starts with their aces on the mound.

"Right now we got two dudes on the mound that can throw," sophomore third basemen Cash Morgan said. "I'd say that's the biggest thing, defense for sure."

"We played them twice in district and we beat them 29-0 in two games with a one-hitter," junior pitcher Rylan Newman said. "We're hitting pretty well right now. I would say we're hitting over .300 as a team."

The Pirates face Era in game one at Prosper High School Wednesday, May 17 at 6:00pm. Games two and three are Friday, May 19 at 5:00pm.
