GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas (KTEN) — Nine individuals were arrested over the weekend in connection with alleged organized crime activities in Grayson County.

The suspects include four people arrested in Denison and five people arrested in Sherman. The Sherman suspects were identified as: 

  • Abel Carrera of Denison, charged with tampering with a government record, engaging in organized criminal activity and displaying fictitious motor vehicle registration.
  • Nelson Lopez, charged with forgery of a financial instrument, engaging in organized crime, evading arrest and tampering with a government record.
  • Roberto Rojo, charged with forgery of a financial instrument, resisting arrest, engaging in organized criminal activity and tampering with a government record.
  • Eduardo Flores of Houston, charged with forgery of a financial instrument, tampering with a government record and engaging in organized crime.
These men were arrested in connection with an organized crime case in Denison, Texas.

Before 5 o'clock Friday afternoon, Denison officers were called to First United Bank near the intersection of Main Street and Armstrong Avenue after receiving reports of an an attempt to cash fraudulent checks.

The suspects attempted to run from police, but were later taken into custody

Sherman police have also arrested the following individuals, who have been charged with engaging in criminal activity: 

  • Ronald Torres of Houston
  • Gabriel Marquez
  • Victor Ramos of Houston
  • Julia Torres
  • Francisco Marquez Jr.
These individuals were arrested in connection with an organized crime case in Sherman.

Sherman police have not released any additional details about those arrests, and police in both Denison and Sherman have yet to comment as to whether there is any connection between the two groups..
