DENISON, Texas (KTEN) —  Students at Scott Middle School are learning about the Civil War.

Dale Anderson, a historical reeanactor, was on campus demonstrating how an 1841 mountain howitzer fires.

Anderson also discussed the causes of the War Between the States.

"I think we need the opportunity for kids to ask questions to someone outside... someone who kind of experiences it on a monthly basis when we have our reeanactments," he said, adding that history is important.

Anderson was scheduled to be at the Denison campus all day on Friday.
