PAULS VALLEY, Okla. (KTEN) — A call from Pauls Valley High School on Sunday ended with a man behind bars accused of kidnapping and fighting with officers.

Pauls Valley police said a man identified as Caleb Meave, 32, was talking to children in the gym during a gymnastics competition. He allegedly picked up a six-year-old and started to walk away from the family.

The suspect fought back when officers tried to arrest him. Two officers suffered minor injuries.

"Meave exhibited signs consistent with someone under the influence of drugs," police said in a written statement.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Garvin County Jail. Bond was set at $100,000.

All the officers involved and that child are okay.
