DENISON, Texas (KTEN) - It's no secret that Grayson College Softball is dominant. The Lady Vikings are 46-7 and ranked fifth in the NJCAA D1 Softball poll.

Sunday afternoon, Grayson defeated McLennan College 4-3 to win the Region V Tournament. Lady Vikings' Kenna Collett walked it off in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The win earns Grayson an automatic bid to the NJCAA Softball World Series in Alabama May 23-27.

The Lady Vikings live by the motto, "GWAY," which has propelled them all season. KTEN sat down with Collett and Amiah Galcatcher and asked them about their team motto and the secret to their success this season.

"I think the reason we've been so successful is just because of what we do and why we do it," Collett said. "We play for each other and we always say we're doing it for each other, so I think that's why we have so much success. [GWAY] came from a team a couple years ago; we shortened it up to GWAY instead of Grayson Way. It just means play for each other, fight, work hard, and always go and give it your best."

Galcatcher echoed her teammates sentiments, but added a point about their team's clutch factor.

"This team has definitely proven that the game is not over unless the seventh inning is over," Galcatcher said. "That's what makes us who we are we don't give up."
