DENISON, Texas (KTEN) - The Denison Yellow Jackets are catching fire at the perfect time. Despite struggling mid-season, Denison has found a groove, highlighted by two wins last week against rival Sherman.

Now, they get ready for Forney in the Bi-District round, with game one at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Denison.

"Last year, we came in really hot to end the season," said Denison senior shortstop Ty Kirkbride. "It sort of just fused out at the end... so coach was just on us about energy."

"The last couple of games we haven't been stopped," said senior pitcher Owen Ewton. "Our bats have been going, our pitching has been on point. At this point, I don't think anybody else it going to stop us."
