DALLAS, Texas (KTEN) — A Dallas police officer and a K-9 were shot and injured after responding to a family violence incident on Friday morning.
Officers arrived at a residence to find two people had been shot. They were taken to a hospital.
The suspect fled, and officers found that person hours later in a creek bed. That's when police said the suspect started shooting, striking an officer in the leg and shoulder. A K-9 was also hit.
Officers then shot the suspect.
Injuries to the officer and the dog were not considered life-threatening; there was no word on the suspect's condition.
