A 'reality check' for Sherman High seniors
SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — Sherman High School seniors got a "reality check" on Wednesday morning.
That's the title of a program that helps them navigate adult life.
Students are first presented with a mock budget; then they move around the gymnasium talking with representatives from 25 local businesses.
They get guidance and input that will help them make the most out of their budget.
When students finish making their rounds, they'll go to a table where a local banker will review their budget.
"A lot of people don't know how to manage their money, and end up in situations where they have to ask for help," said senior Ximena Guzman. "I think this is good, so you know you have a good example of what it would be like to have a life that you don't already have, but that you will have in the future."
