Whitewright's Deegan Bement signs with Oklahoma Wesleyan
WHITEWRIGHT, Texas (KTEN) - Whitewright baseball's Deegan Bement made it official today; he put pen to paper and signed with Oklahoma Wesleyan University to play baseball at the next level.
Bement has amassed 83 career hits and Head Coach Daniel Barge claimed he wooed be in triple digits if it weren't for the COVID-19 pandemic. Bement chose Oklahoma Wesleyan thanks to another intelligent coach in the recruiting process.
"Definitely Coach Murphy," Bement said. "He's an amazing coach who's awesome. He knows the game of baseball better than I do. I can just pick at his brain and he'll let me know and that's just awesome to have as a coach and for a kid to have as a tool."
The Tiger's regular season ended today with a doubleheader against Tom Bean. Bement will look to lead Whitewright through the 2A playoffs in May.
