WHITEWRIGHT, Texas (KTEN) - Whitewright powerlifter MarcAnthony Gonzalez has had a dream of a senior year. In the fall, he helped the Tigers make the UIL playoffs as a starter on the offensive line. He then won the 2023, division four, 242-pound weight class state championship for powerlifting.

While there, Gonzalez had a combined squat, deadlift and bench of 1600 pounds. Thursday, he signed his letter of intent to continue powerlifting at the school of his dreams, the University of Texas.

"I've always liked UT, it's always been my number one school in Texas," said Gonzalez. "This is a good group of people I want to be around."
