New treatment plant at Ardmore Industrial Airpark gets OK
ARDMORE, Okla. (KTEN) — The City of Ardmore will soon be working on a wastewater improvement project at the Industrial Airpark.
The $8.2 million bid for a new treatment plant was approved by the City Commission on Monday night.
The project has been on the city's to-do list for years, as the current facility is extremely old and is not able to treat to the levels that the state wants.
The new wastewater treatment plant will be constructed with future growth in mind. City staffers said they were prepared for the bid to be higher than what was expected just a couple of years ago due to rising costs.
Construction is expected to start in 6 to 12 months.
