Gainesville hosts inaugural wine stroll
GAINESVILLE, Texas (KTEN) -- Gainesville is hosting a wine stroll Saturday evening.
They've sold 500 tickets ahead of the event and have wine vendors coming from all over Texoma.
"Twelve different boutiques downtown, so the stroll itself you get a ticket," said Brandi Voth, owner of Power Project. "And you get two tastings at each winery as you stroll around, and then our restaurants have worked to create grab-and-go menu items to accompany the wine, and then tonight we have a concert by the original Groove band."
This is Gainesville's first time doing a wine stroll, and it's a way to help put the city on the map.
"We wanted to create an event that just elevates a trip to Gainesville," said Voth. "Something that you look forward to each year, I think a lot of our Air B-n-B's are full this weekend, I know that some of our restaurants have reservations standing already and we've seen an increase in traffic starting yesterday afternoon as everybody starting arriving."
The stroll took place from 4 to 8 p.m., and music went from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.
