SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — There's a big change coming at the intersection of two major Sherman highways.

Starting Tuesday, the Texas Department of Transportation says motorists who are westbound on U.S. 82 will find that the exit ramp to U.S. 75 (642A) has been permanently closed as part of a highway modernization project.

Signs will direct drivers to the Loy Lake Road exit (642B) about 1/4 mile ahead of the closed ramp. The frontage road will lead to the intersection with U.S. 75.

In January, the U.S. 82 eastbound exit to U.S. 75 was temporarily closed for reconstruction. Motorists have been using the Travis Street exit since that change.

Westbound motorists on U.S. 82 will have to take the Loy Lake Road exit (642B) to get to U.S. 75 starting March 14, 2023. (Google Maps)
