Another Denison mural salutes Dwight Eisenhower
DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — A new mural of President Dwight David Eisenhower is going up this weekend in downtown Denison.
The artwork depicts the story of a visit by the president to his home town, and is part of the Ike Hike near the Eisenhower Birthplace Historic Site.
The professional street artist ARCY is painting the tribute on the Owing Street underpass near the intersection of Houston Avenue and Crawford Street.
"I love that it is connecting the dots and adding to his legacy," he said. "I think it is great, and it is pulling more people into different parts of Denison to follow his story."
This is ARCY's third mural in Denison, including a 2021 depiction of the 34th president on the side of a building at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Main Street in Denison.
He expects his latest work to be complete in the next few days.
ARCY is also responsible for a 2021 mural of the 34th president on the side of a building at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Main Street in Denison.
