(KTEN) — For the first time in two-and-a-half years, no part of Texoma is considered to be in drought.

The U.S. Drought Monitor for Oklahoma and Texas shows that the KTEN viewing area has now received enough precipitation to remove the word "drought" from the map. It was September 2021 when conditions were last this normal.

"Still a few areas that are abnormally dry, but that'll likely improve with next week's update," said KTEN meteorologist Amber Nowaski.
