SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — The City of Sherman knows that the lack of downtown parking is one of the most frequent citizen complaints.

Starting next Monday, the city will temporarily close both lots near the Sherman Farmers Market in order to create 60 additional hourly parking spaces.

"Sherman is growing a lot," said Jacy Reeves. "I am all for all these parking spots being added, like, because I struggle to find a parking spot, even just in the little square. so, i feel like more parking would be very beneficial to Sherman."

Both lots are expected to remain closed until April 1.
