Caddo girls battle Seiling, come up short in title game
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KTEN) - The Caddo Lady Bruins already made history on Saturday when they stepped on the court at OKC Fairgrounds Arena. This was the Lady Bruins first state title game appearance in school history.
Caddo got off to an eight point lead after the first quarter (15-7) but Seiling's shooting was too much for Caddo to keep up with in a 54-40 loss. With the win Seiling is back-to-back champions and has now knocked Caddo out of the state tournament in consecutive years.
The Lady Cats shot 64.3% from 3-point range, scoring 27 of their 54 points in the second quarter. Regardless, Caddo head coach Kolby Johnson was proud of the way his team fought for all four quarters and their effort displayed all season.
"They did great, we fought really hard," said Johnson. "We kept it close and gave ourselves chances... did about as good of a job as we could have. We made a few mistakes but played hard."
