(KTEN) – What a wild ride for our Thursday afternoon and evening, Texoma.

Multiple tornado warnings were issued throughout the day, with a KTEN viewer sharing a photograph of a possible tornado near Calera, Oklahoma.

Sherman and Denison, Texas were hit with an impressive hail storm Thursday afternoon.

Accumulating hail was observed in Sherman Thursday afternoon

Some reports of accumulating hail up to waist level to the east of Sherman, Texas in an area of poor drainage. This was most likely caused by a quick flooding event that carried hailstones into a small area.

 

Folks in Durant, Oklahoma had some damage with trees toppling in the city.

Some shocking images came out of Bells, Texas of lightning striking the ground.

On the positive side, a healthy amount of rain has fallen across Texoma throughout the day on March 2. This will certainly be helping our drought situation that still remains in some portions of the region.

As of 8:30 PM Thursday evening, over two inches of rain has fallen in some spots
