DURANT, Okla (KTEN) — Durant's Crisis Control Center is a finalist for this year's Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence Awards.

Out of 19,000 nonprofits agencies across the state, the crisis center was one of 20 selected.

Center staffers say there's a chance to win an additional $10,000 if named the winner.

"We're always needing funds to help our victims," said executive director Eileen Meadows. "Our victims come here with, a lot of times, just the clothes on their back. So we're helping them replace their driver's license, birth certificates, get their medications."

The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Tulsa on April 23.
