SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — Sherman police have named the suspect and victim in Saturday's deadly assault.

Mason Alexander Craig, 29, was booked into the Grayson County Jail early Sunday morning on a murder charge. Bond was set at $1.5 million.

He is suspected in the murder of Kathleen Craig.

Sherman police were called to a residence in the 1500 block of Canyon Creek Drive on Saturday evening to investigate an assault. When officers arrived, they found the victim dead at the scene and took Mason Craig into custody, according to a news release.

Police and the Texas Rangers are still investigating the incident, and ask residents in the area for patience as they continue.
