Meet Sherman's new fire chief
SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — Billy Hartsfield has been a part of Sherman Fire Rescue since 2007. Now he is the chief.
After the retirement of former Chief Danny Jones, the City of Sherman has been searching for a replacement. Hartsfield had served as interim chief until he was permanently appointed by the City Council on February 3.
"It's a great honor to be selected out of a pool of candidates that we have," he said. "To be the head of this great organization we have here in Sherman, just full of all the talent and the fine firefighters we have here."
Hartsfield said he has many plans for the future of the fire rescue service.
