DENISON, Texas (KTEN) - Grayson College has emerged as one of the top junior college softball programs in the country. The Vikings are coming off of a promising 2022 campaign, where they finished with a 40-8 record.

However, they came up short, losing to Weatherford in the Region V tournament last year. Grayson has reloaded this year, and they have goals of going all the way.

"I think overall, this is the most speed that we've ever put on the field," said Grayson head coach Mike McBrayer. "Speed shows up when the wind is blowing in, speed shows up when the weather is bad, so that's a plus."

"Every softball player's goal is to win a national championship," said Grayson sophomore outfielder Amiah Galcatcher. "I think this team strives to do that... we have what it takes to win."

Grayson begins play on Friday against San Jacinto on the road. For the full schedule click here.
