BONHAM, Texas (KTEN) — Fannin County ArgiLife held its annual tax valuation seminar on Friday morning.

It is important to understand how to file your taxes... especially for people who own a lot of farmland.

But it can be confusing and difficult to learn on your own.

That's why the Fannin ArgiLife team offers an educational program with professionals who can advise how to apply for the correct appraisal.

District appraisers, along with Fannin County property managers, discussed common issues at Friday's seminar.

Taxpayers took notes about the process and about their rights as property owners.

ArgiLife says the crash course continues to get bigger over the years, with new and past taxpayers dedicated to learn more.

"Feeling confident that they do have direct communication with the ag appraisal here for Fannin County, and that they know they are doing the right things for their property," said extension agent Cody Maxwell.

The deadline to file the agriculture tax application is April 30.
