BONHAM, Texas (KTEN) — Applications are now open for funds to help repair damage to farmland during the December 13 tornado in Fannin County.

The USDA's Emergency Conservation Program can pay to remove debris and restore fencing to pre-disaster conditions.

"Farming is a difficult occupation as it is," said Amy Lindsey, Farm Service Agency county director. "And so, especially with prices rising and everything we do, but especially in farming, you want to help in any way that you can."

Farmers and ranchers with damage from natural disaster events must apply for assistance before beginning repairs.

ECP relief applications are open through February 10. Contact the FSA office in Bonham at 903-583-9513 ext. 2 for details.
