Ardmore silo transformed into massive work of art
ARDMORE, Okla. (KTEN) — It's a downtown Ardmore art installation that can be seen and appreciated for miles around.
The Chickasaw Nation, the Ardmore Beautification Council and Bluebonnet Feeds worked together in a year-long process to bring a mural by Dr. Bob Palmer to life.
The image — depicting a Chickasaw warrior — has taken nearly two weeks to paint on the side of the Bluebonnet Feeds silo on Mill Street overlooking the downtown district.
"Ardmore's putting a lot of money into making this a presentable town, and we just keep investing into our community," said Dana Kielar with Bluebonnet Feeds. "We're happy to be able to play a tiny part of that."
Palmer has painted more than 3,800 murals across Oklahoma, Canada, Mexico and Europe, according to his website.
