GUNTER, Texas (KTEN) - Once again, Gunter will face Canadian in the UIL state semifinals. These two schools have played each other in six out of the last seven seasons, most recently in 2020.

Gunter has one three of those match ups but lost two. The Tigers know the challenge they will face but this is a supremely confident squad sitting 14-0, and they have a trip to Arlington on their mind.

"Canadian is one of the best programs in the state of Texas, all classifications," said Gunter head coach Jake Fieszel. "It's gonna be a battle, it's gonna be a tremendous challenge but we're excited about it."

"The team that's gonna go win a state championship is the team that's going to continue to get better."

Gunter and Canadian will play Friday at 6 pm at Abilene's Wildcat Stadium.
