COLLINSVILLE, Texas (KTEN) - The Collinsville Pirates are having their best season under fourth-year head coach Garrett Patterson. Following a dominating 51-14 win in the area round over McCamey, the Pirates will have to face Windthorst in the UIL Regional Semifinals.

The Trojans are one of the best 2A(II) programs in the state and won the state championship over Mart in 2020. Patterson knows his team will have a challenge but does not want his guys to get tripped up by Windthorst's past success or reputation.

"They've got the tradition of the school," said Patterson. "That's gonna be something that we've got to make sure we do a good job of, of overcoming the name... Getting passed the name is going to be big for us and just playing to our potential."

Collinsville and Windthorst will kickoff at 1 p.m. on Friday at Springtown High School.
