VAN ALSTYNE, Texas (KTEN) - The Van Alstyne Panthers have a tall task awaiting them on Friday night. The Panthers will have to face the No. 1 team in 4A(II) in Carthage on Friday. Despite the challenge, Panthers head coach Mikeal Miller is not ready to waive any white flags before the game is played.

"You gotta believe that things happen," said Miller. "The best team doesn't always win, it's the team that plays the best.... the bottom line is, are we tough enough to go line up and go play for 48 minutes?"

The Panthers kickoff against Carthage at 7 p.m. Friday at Texarkana's Tiger Stadium.
