(KTEN) — Americans went to the polls on Tuesday to elect a new Congress and to vote in other important races.

Incumbent Republican governors in Texas and Oklahoma are facing strong challenges from Democratic contenders. Oklahoma's two U.S. Senate seats are also on the ballot.

VoteTexas.gov is the online portal for Lone Star State citizens to obtain complete information about where to vote and to see what's on the ballot. Call 800-252-VOTE with any last-minute questions.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in both Oklahoma and Texas.

Voters are urged to contact their county or state election board to report any possible violations of election law.
